Ben graduated from Murdoch University in 2011 and spent eight years working in small animal general practice across Western Australia, the United Kingdom and Victoria.

After a visit to the pathology department at Cornell University in New York, Ben began a residency at Murdoch University in 2019 where he completed a Master of Clinical Veterinary Studies. He subsequently continued and completed his specialist training with the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development in Perth.

In 2022 he became a member of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists (ANZCVS) in Pathobiology and a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists (Anatomic pathology).

Ben has an interest in ocular pathology and dermatopathology, although he enjoys all aspects of pathology.
