Following the recent identification of H5N1 avian influenza in southern Western Australia and South Australia, Vetnostics reminds clients that samples from animals with suspected or confirmed high-risk zoonotic infections must be submitted directly to their state agriculture department laboratory or to CSIRO Australian Centre for Disease Preparedness (ACDP), Geelong, where applicable.
