Welcome to Vetnostics

Vetnostics is part of a network of pathology laboratories throughout Australia operating under the umbrella of Specialist Diagnostic Services Pty Ltd. This organisation has evolved through the acquisition of Vetnostics in 1999 and the integration of Scone Diagnostic Veterinary laboratory (Angela Begg) in 2001. The veterinary division is now called Vetnostics.

Bruce Duff Laboratories was established in 1976 by Dr Bruce Duff and grew to become one of the largest veterinary pathology providers in the ACT and NSW. The company continued to expand and subsequently merged with Macquarie Pathology in 1986 to become Vetnostics. Macquarie Pathology was established in 1970 and provided extensive services to metropolitan and country NSW, the ACT and South Eastern Queensland.

Scone Diagnostic Veterinary Laboratory (SDVL) was established in 1992 by Dr Angela Begg. SDVL became the leading equine veterinary pathology laboratory in NSW.

The 'state of the art' North Ryde laboratory is the central laboratory for Vetnostics. This laboratory complex was operational in the final quarter of 2000, and was officially opened by the New South Wales Minister for Health on March 14, 2001.

The Vetnostics practice is run by a team of veterinary pathologists under the stewardship of Dr David Snow as well as health management professionals. From this North Ryde base, the organisation provides an integrated network of local laboratories throughout New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory.

In addition to our reputation for high ethical standards and pathologist expertise, we strive for continuous improvements through new technology and have a professional partnership with the veterinary community we service.

Central to all our activities is our aim to deliver a highly personalised and professional veterinary pathology service to our referring veterinarians in order to assist them in providing the best possible care to their patients.
